THE 4 C'S
Diamonds are evaluated by different characteristics
Cut, Clarity, Colour and Carat weight.
These are often referred to as the four C’s.
Cut - This refers to the reflective quality of a diamond and the resulting brilliance.
Clarity - When a diamond is being formed inner flaws can occur. The frequency, size and visibility of these flaws determine the level of clarity. Clearer diamonds give more brilliance and are consequently highly sought after.
Colour - Diamonds that have no colour are the best as they refract the most light and provide the most brilliance.
Carat - A diamond is measured in units of weight called carats. Large diamonds are rare so they are priced to reflect this fact.
